The staff and residents at Evergreen Senior Living in Orland Park had an amazing time celebrating National Assisted Living Week. We set sail on our Cruise Week adventure with fun and exciting themes each day culminating in the islands with a luau on Saturday afternoon.
Monday’s port of call was the United States, and everyone wore their best patriotic looks to kick off our voyage. Tuesday found us in Germany where we celebrated our favorite superheroes. We celebrated Dia de Los Muertos and Halloween in Mexico on Wednesday and remembered our favorite sports and Olympic moments in Greece on Thursday. We donned our favorite hats on Friday and had a quick trip to Italy.
The week of adventure wrapped in Hawaii where we invited friends and family from near and far to celebrate with us. We had a luau, games for young and old, a bounce house, live music, and Hawaiian and Tahitian dancers. Guests were invited to participate in a raffle to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association that included a lottery ticket board, a baseball signed by a Chicago Cubs team member, and a myriad of other baskets and prizes. We raised over $1000!
At Evergreen Orland, we’re so glad for the residents and guests that came to celebrate with us; more than 300 in all. We love our campus, and nothing makes us happier than sharing it with our community.A huge thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the day with us and help us raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. If you missed Family Fun day, keep your eyes on our website and Facebook page for more opportunities to join in the fun.
