This year’s theme is Keeping Connected. The theme encourages assisted living communities to support opportunities for residents to use the latest communication tools to engage with the world around them. Each day of the week highlights a different part of how keeping our seniors connected is so important. On Monday, residents learned about connecting through technology. Many seniors grew up experiencing very different innovations than today’s youth. Tuesday’s theme is, “Connecting residents through food” where residents can learn to exercise in the kitchen, bring favorite recipes for sharing and enjoy a potluck! Wednesday gets residents connecting with the community through an outing to White Fence Farm and volunteer time. Thursday focuses on hobbies. Residents are encouraged to wear their favorite sports team shirts, participate in a bake sale and enjoy an in-house spa evening! Friday focuses on being neighborly in the Orland Park community and ends the day with Happy Hour and Bingo held in the Legends Pub. Saturday’s Ice Cream Social strengthens the connection with family and friends, and residents are encouraged to invite family and friends!
